In my travels, I enjoy looking for new roosters to add to my collection. Not just any rooster, he has to stand out. There needs the be something special about him and where I find him.

Yesterday, we were on the way to our cabin in Cripple Creek, Colorado. There was a little store on the side of the road called Bayou Salado Trading Post. The entire front lawn was covered with GIANT metal roosters and other random sculptures. There is one about 7 feet tall but there is no way for me to get him home to Michigan. He is definitely NOT a carry on. Even the 4 foot guy is too big for that. I can’t imagine what it would cost to ship either of them to Michigan.

Instead, this little guy caught my eye. He will now be known as Hartsel. He will be welcomed by my brood to his new home.
